What is an extended warranty?
An extended warranty is a service plan that provides greater and longer-lasting product support than manufacturers' warranties for your purchases, saving you from having to pay unexpected and often expensive repair costs.

How is this different from a manufacturer's warranty?
A manufacturer's warranty usually offers only limited coverage and often has separate rules for parts and labor, as well as short warranty periods. Photoamerica's extended warranties cover both parts and labor for the entire life of the plan, which is as long as the customer specifies.

Who is eligible for a Photoamerica service plan?
We offer our solutions to customers in the United States and abroad. We offer a special "White Glove Service" plan to certain customers who meet eligibility requirements. While customers around the world are invited to take advantage of our service, all repairs and servicing of items is performed in the United States.

What types of products do Photoamerica service plans cover?
We specialize in the optical aspects of photographic equipment, servicing cameras, camcorders, and other optical equipment, such as binoculars and scopes, of all types and price points.

What types of service plans does Photoamerica offer?
We offer several levels of service plans in denominations of service plan length and amount insured. We also offer a special "White Glove Service" to those who need a superior level of care.

What is the "White Glove Service" plan?
Photoamerica's White Glove Service is a special service plan offered only to eligible customers who require the very highest level of extended warranty service. This program includes benefits such as expedited service, free pickup and delivery (within the USA only), and a free annual cleaning for covered equipment (of CCDs, heads, mirrors, etc.).

Can I get coverage for my equipment even if it was purchased without a warranty?
Yes. As long as the warranty is purchased within 60 days of the date of product purchase. The warranty will not cover pre-existing damage.

Are warranties transferrable?
Yes. If you purchase a new product, you can cover that product under an existing Photoamerica warranty, which will cancel the coverage on the previously warrantied item. If a covered item is sold to another person, the warranty transfers to the new owner.

Whom should I call if my product needs service?
If your product is still covered under the manufacturer's warranty, contact the manufacturer. To cover items under a Photoamerica service plan, call 1-877-445-6888 ext. 208. If you already have a Photoamerica extended warranty, service is provided by our factory service centers and authorized technicians. Are all service costs covered, even if my equipment needs major repairs?
Yes. When you purchase a Photoamerica extended warranty, it covers the cost of both parts and labor on all operating components that fail in the course of normal use.

Who will perform the service if repairs are needed?
Only Photoamerica authorized technicians will perform service on your items when you own an extended warranty plan. These technicians are extensively trained to ensure a level of professionalism and skill that will satisfy even the most demanding customer.

Will my product be repaired with the original parts?
Photoamerica uses only genuine original manufacturer parts in all its repairs.

What if my item is beyond repair?
We will replace it. If your item is no longer available, you will receive a similar product of equal or greater value.

Where will my item be serviced?
Photoamerica maintains a list of over 5,000 manufacturer authorized service centers within the United States. A product can either be taken to one of our local service centers or shipped to our main service center in New York.
